I have a couple of questions about going to EC. I am still working on trying to decide which of the Big 3 I want to go to.banghead Anyway, here goes.....
1) How much does it cost for LSU to send a transcript to EC for the Information Literacy course?
2) I was under the impression that all of the Big 3 accepted up to 120 credits whether B&M or CLEP/DSST, but my mom talked to TESC and they said that their limit is 90. Is it just them or does EC have a limit on CLEP too?
I think that is it for now. Thank you to everyone who has helped me with all my questions.

from the TESC website :
If you studied at a regionally accredited community college, you may transfer up to 80 credits. If you studied at a regionally accredited four-year institution, you may transfer up to 120 credits. If you have studied at more than one institution, we can accept your credits, provided the institutions are regionally accredited. Thomas Edison State College | Transferring Your Credit
Im pretty certain EC and COSC limit CC transfer to 90 credits. thay will accept up to 120 from accredited 4 year schools.
Remember the whole point of the big three us that they have liberal transfer credit policies......and perhaps more importantly, they have little or no residency requirement.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

If you don't receive a response, you should be able to find the cost of the transcript on LSU's website.
As far as I know, all credits through exams and transfer courses that apply to a degree will be accepted at EC. The only excpetion is the 3 UL capstone course which must be taken through them.
I think something got lost in the translation at TESC. Look at Levi's recently completed Business degree. He has more than 90 CLEP/DSST credits.

I found where the first 2 transcripts a day from LSU are free. $5 after that. Thank you for the link for Levi's post. I will have to call TESC and look into that again.

to clarify........none of the big three accept more than 90 credits from a COMMUNITY COLLEGE !
Why ?
They all require 30 hours at the upper level (300, 400 classes). CC by definition only award 100 and 200 level credit. So 90 credits from a community college is all that could possibly be awarded and still count towards your degree. This requirement has nothing to do with clep, dsst, ACE or any other form of aquiring credit. Here in Florida the newest thing is for old CC to start awarding 4 year degrees, usually BAS. When they start doing this they typically change their names to reflect that they are no longer just a 2 year degree college. For example Polk Community College just changed to Polk State College as they now offer 3 Batchelor of Applied Science degree tracks.

HTH rebel100,
Thank you for clarifying that for me. LOL It makes sense now. I think that is why I was so confused. I was under the impression that the Big 3 accepted all CLEP or DSST and that there was no limit. (Which is true) So when TESC said their limit was 90 that confused me. They must have thought I meant CC credits and not CLEP credits. I am going to call and double check on this just to be sure though.
Thanks
