TESC BSBA Evaluation
#1
Hello Ladies and Gents-
I was going to wait until more of my outstanding credits had a chance to be evaluated by TESC, but considering who knows when that could be, and my desire to maximize my SL month (12-27-14 to 1-27-15), I figure I post my current Eval and the list of credits yet to be applied - hopefully get a head start with your feedback and suggestions. Note on my eval, I did enroll under the Enrolled Options Plan last week, and I registered for 2 UL Classes and 1 UL TECEP for 2/2015 (trying to utilize whatever I can of my remaining 2014-15 Pell Grant. $1400 will be applied towards Feb term + Enrollment Fee, TESC, as you all know, isn't ideal for Fin Aid, but since I plan to be done soon I'm not too concerned.)

Some of the remaining spots I have a plan for: CLEP for College Composition, Aleks Stats, SL MacroEcon. I'm wondering what to do with General Ed and Interdisciplinary requirements. I've thoroughly read this forum so I know PennFoster is probably going to be in my future as far as Strategic Management and Principles of Finance go. I suppose I'll have a better blueprint within a few weeks, but like I said, I don't want to pay for another month of SL, so anything you guys recommend I can complete through them would be great. Also all 4 of the nearest CLEP facilities are over an hour away from me, unfortunately my local CC and State college do not offer the exams. But I do plan on taking the trip soon for English 1/2, so if there's another 6 credit CLEP I may benefit from, I would consider it, Analyzing and Interpreting Lit maybe? I'm fairly efficient with online exams, all the ACE and SL courses listed below were all completed in the last 7 days; and I do work full time, hence I am fully motivated to finally attain this degree.

Attached is a PDF of the original EVAL with 31 of my CC credits applied towards a General Mgmt Degree.

Credits yet to be sent and/or evaluated are:

4 year University---
1. Microeconomics
2. Intro to International Politics
3. Cognitive Psychology
4. Voice and Diction (Speech and Hearing Science)

2 year CC---
1. Intro to Criminology
2. Historical Foundation of American Education
3. Managerial Accounting

AP Credits---
1. U.S. History
2. Government

2. Intro to Religion
3. Business Ethics

ACE---

2. Aleks Intermediate Algebra
3. All 3 TEEX courses
4. Kaplan PLA course
5. NFA course

Thanks for taking the time. Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2015!

Would the TEEX (Cybersecurity for Everyone, Cybersecurity for IT Professionals, Cybersecurity for Business Professionals) not fit in? I was thinking at the least it would take care of the Intro to Computers requirement ?
#4
Maybe? I really wasn't sure because the description of what is required

Compu Lit/Intr CIS (Not Started) > Complete 3 hours in an introduction to information systems, introduction to computers, computer literacy, or an introductory computing course with applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

doesn't quite match the cybersecurity curriculum, which is mostly about identifying and protecting against cybersecurity threats. I'm hoping someone else will confirm it worked for them.

I know that the Saylor Intro to Computer Science course will count for the $25 ProctorU fee.
Good luck!

TEEX Courses (6) will fall under Business Electives or Free Electives

You can use both DSST/CLEP/Saylor COS101 or TECEP CIS107 to fill the intro to computers requirement. Recommend taking both COS101 and CIS107 concurrently for an added 3 cr. Take advantage, as the exams offer major overlap in subject matter.

Example:
DSST COS101 Intro to Computing - General Education Electives
TECEP CIS107 Computer Concepts & Applications - Business Core

Good luck!

Edit to Add: because you've already taken so many community college level business courses you are going to have some overages. It was all free credit so you've only lost the time investment.

The SL business ethics will fill the Business Core slot (A8).
TEEX: you only need 4cr in business electives (C18).
Free Electives is filled so the Kaplan PLA, NFA courses and remaining TEEX 2cr will drop to the unused other courses section.

You needed the UL business courses to which you are PR. I find it interesting they've designated small business management as marketing. Doesn't matter since you've got a true marketing course (sales management) sitting in the electives section. So you will definitely meet the 3 out of 4 business areas requirement. Without it, I would have worried about getting kickback at audit. Other than what I've called out KayV's plan looks great!

Quick update, my 4 University courses were added to eval as follows:

Voice and Diction - General Education Requirements (Intellectual and Practical Skills)
Intro to International Politics - Personal and Social Responsibility Elective
Microeconomics - Microeconomics Requirement
Cognitive Psychology - Hum Cult & Phys World Interdisciplinary

Those first two are kind of surprising. Now I hope my Aleks Intermediate Algebra and SL Intro to Religion fit in somewhere.

Also received a reply from Academic Advising about SL Business Ethics: "Yes, the Business Ethics course, from Straighterline, will satisfy the Business in Society/Int'l Management requirement."

Be careful not to overlap on the NFA courses: Q318 Fire Service Supervision counts a 1 credit towards HRM-331, and DSST Human Resource Management is also HRM-331.

Great news SwaggyP!

@dfrecore - according to the updated evaluation, SwaggyP actually now has 8 free elective credits (Kaplan x3, NFA x3, TEEX x2) to fill the section so the loss of 1cr is no problem.
