You don't get credit for experience you get credit at any school in the United States who accepts ACE approved courses because all of Hamburger University Courses are college level courses. What I'm trying to establish is has anyone availed of this reduced fees for working at McDonalds and attending Excelsior and any details would be wonderful. There are some 20 companies that if you work for them Excelsior will give you reduced fees and depending on degree's and companies and associations McDonalds is listed but details of fees reductions aren't listed. Also information as to weather you need to be in Management to avail of the fees reduction isn't explained.
Note I was NOT being critical of this myself, just pointing out how it can easily be seen by others. Heck, a lot of people here get free credit through FEMAs.
To answer your question though, why don't you just send Excelsior an e-mail and ask them for the details? I read a LOT here when I first found this place and never heard of anything like that. Besides, even if someone in the past had done it the program could have changed. The enrollment advisors at EC are your best bet for an answer on something like that.

I can't locate anything specific about EC as to whether discounts apply to anyone (i.e. burger-flippers), or just management level personnel. However Kaplan seems to give any employee a 10% discount, and Lewis U a 5% discount.

Thanks for the reply. I'm planning on getting a a job with someone who has a link in with EC that way I'll save on enrollement and other things so you're reply is in the right direction. The credits available for Hamburger U aren't really of interest to me as I'm more than likely ahead of those course specifics at my current college in Ireland the reduction in fees is the main issue for me although Ham U will give others some good college credits.
Writing to EC is fine except I'd like to have an idea from others experience first. It seems the EC personnel according to these forums are slow to answer questions and have a high percentage of not paying attention to detail unless you are actually enrolled. I wrote to them December 8th about an ICDL six credits process and so far they haven't answered me. I've since found out that if you have the ICDL/ECDL compeleted the ICDL office will send your transcript on request to excelsior although EC themselves haven't replied to me. thanks again for the input..................

You might also want to look at other partnership options (like PAOG and IEEE) that don't require employment, but do give discounts at EC. Here are some threads to get you started:

You dont need to work at McDonalds to get the partnership discount you can join IEEE or the Peace Officers Association of Georgia (for like 25 bucks) and get the discount and your tuition per credit hour will be $305 and they will deduct graduation fees and other fees if you complete 12 credits with them.
McDonalds University classes are not offered to everybody just to managers or prospective managers. My wife worked during her highschool and college years for McDonalds and the manager wanted her to go to Hamburger University training but it was not online and I don't know if the company paid for the training or not.
