Edit Reason: fixed thread title typo
)
With advice I got from this board, my teenager is going to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from TESU, as his fastest path to graduation. He only lacks 4 upper level classes to take before applying. I am trying to determine what study.com courses TESU would consider to meet the UL BALS needs. Do the criminal justice courses count? What about anything in the healthcare management courses? Otherwise, he will be taking the history, psychology, and sociology classes. He would really like to do one of the criminal justice upper levels if it counts, so I appreciate if anyone has any insight.

Study.com maintains a list of how their courses are expected to transfer to TESU here:
https://study.com/college/school/thomas-...rsity.html
There’s a search box underneath the heading “Find your courses.”

Thank you. I have looked at that but I guess I am pretty obtuse. I cannot determine which of those approved courses are appropriate to meet the specific requirements for the upper level requirements of the specific Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. For example, I have heard from others that the upper level business course would not satisfy that requirement. I hope my question makes sense.

My suggestion is to a mix/match of alternative credits, what I mean by that is, you want to have a balanced trifecta set of certs, degree, experience, and using another trifecta of cost, ease, speed. Your final trifecta is to get the Associates/Bachelors combo, ROI/Value, customize or personalize the pathway.
Here's an example, you can add an associates or two, use a combo of Coursera to get UL credit (along with the respective professional certs), use Law Shelf (voice proctor, not video) to get GOV-202 Basics of Environmental Law transferred as ENS-360 Environ Sustainability & Social Justice as an additional option if you need more classes.
Here are some cheapies/freebies from Coursera and other providers such as Law Shelf: You can use ACE/NCCRS credits to max your transfer to TESU, you just need 30 RA credits total, and, if you want to skip the Edison Accelerate Fee, you need 15 residency credits. You can decide if you want to pay or take the classes from them. I suggest max the ACE/NCCRS credits first, you can go past 120+ credits, it's all personal preference.

I wasn't sure if I should continue this here or not, but I have made an outline of requirements for TESU BALS - non concentration and plugged in what courses my son has already taken. Since he was originally going down a business track, he has more electives than he needs. From what I can see, he needs one more UL AOS, and 5 more level 2000 classes in AOS. Plus the two TESU required courses. Would anyone look over this and see if I have missed anything or put a class where it doesn't belong?

LIB-4950 Capstone counts as upper-level credit in the area of study, so you can move that up from the bottom to fill position A5 on your list.
Business Ethics comes to TESU as PHI-285, so if he could take an ethics course somewhere that would come in as at least 1000-level (e.g., Sophia Introduction to Ethics which comes in as PHI-180), he could place that new course into Civic and Global Leadership and bump Business Ethics into the AOS list B.
Would they accept BUS-302 Foundations of Leadership in the AOS? A few business courses that have enough social science content are so accepted. If it’s accepted in gen ed, that suggests a chance it’ll be accepted in Liberal Studies. If so you could bump that to the AOS and fill that spot in Civic and Global Leadership with an easier-to-find lower-level course.

So helpful! Thank you. I had the Business Ethics from Sophia under the Knowledge of Human Culture GE section. If I move it to AOS, could I replace it with Intro to Psychology - moving that from Electives to the GE human culture requirement? I already have Intro to Ethics in the Civic Section.
I was wondering if Foundations of Leadership would work for AOS but I just can't figure if it does or not. That GE spot would be easy to replace.

For your UL requirements, you want to make sure they're still UL, if I recall correctly, TEEX Death Investigation got downgraded by ACE, thus, do the LawShelf class I mentioned to take the place of it, or something similar from another ACE/NCCRS provider...
