Walmart expands it's college benefit further: CS and IT
#1
About a year ago I posted a thread about Walmart's new college program. At that time it basically covered a 4 year business degree at 3 colleges: Brandman, Bellevue and UF. They have now expanded it to include CS, IT and Cyber security Associate's and Bachelor's and also added 3 more colleges: Purdue Global, SNHU and Wilmington. They also added free SAT/ACT prep programs and expanded eligibility to include high schoolers. In my opinion this is a very competitive benefit considering there is no obligation to stay with the company and even part timers can partake. Obviously, it wasn't the most flexible before but now it's much better, especially considering the growth in the tech field. Also, employees become eligible after being employed for 90 days.

SNHU and Wilmington will both take 90cr of transfer including ACE, so you could get it done through Walmart in a year!

Exactly! Plus there are Brandman MyPath degrees which are competency based so that's another option to accelerate.

This is OUTSTANDING.
Despite Walmart's primary workforce being entry-level workers ($10-12ish hourly) they DO offer upward mobility, but you have to be willing to get a degree.
If you're willing, they'll pay for it.
I can't believe with programs like this that Walmart still gets haters.
Walmart assistant managers earn $75k and store managers earn 6 figures.

I LOVE that they are expanding into computer majors, I might have to reconsider my son's COSC degree.

They get haters because much, if not most, of the stuff they sell is not made in the U.S., they've driven many small businesses out of business, and most of their employees qualify for welfare. Walmart and several other large employers with low wages are responding to the recent pressure to increase wages.
