I have to take the Humanities CLEP... heard is was very hard! I have no background in humanities and it's not my interest (I'm a biology major). Is it really that bad? Any good study guides anyone knows of? Is Comex CLEP Humanities study guide any good?? Have about two weeks of study time.. is it possible to pass with such a short amount of time? Any help would be appreciated!

I don't have any advice but - I'm working on the same test since I have the 2012 Official Study Guide out from the library for AIL anyway I went ahead and took the Humanities pre-test, it seems really easy.
I think if you have the official study guide you can get the gist of what's going to be on it and gauge how much studying you should have to do for it.
(I missed one about "A Raisin in the Sun" and that was on my cable company's free movies so I watched it, lol. I don't like old movies and I realllly don't like movies based on plays cause I always feel like the dialogue just goes on wayyy too long and bores me, but it was good, very smart writing.
My cable company also had "Sense and Sensibility" lol , also totally not my kind of movie/book , but I had gotten a question about Jane Austen wrong , and I was bored and figured what the heck, I'll watch this one too, and that one turned out better than I thought it would be too.
So yeah like 4 hours investment for 2 questions that might not even be on the actual test! - not a great payoff! LOL But I was bored and I ended up liking both, so I'm good with it.

A lot of people take Analyzing and Interpreting literature CLEP ~ its worth 6 credits!!! If you look at the threads they say you only need a few hours to prepare? I'm taking it next week. They say it's just reading comprehension. You read the works and answer questions about it. Also need to study a list of vocabulary that is easily found on these threads. Good Luck

Would these two effectively cancel each other out? I'm going for a BA in psych (eventually) and was thinking of taking both of these?

I too was scared of this CLEP. In fact, I made it the last of 7 CLEPs I took just because I was so nervous of it. Then when it came time to study for it . . . I chickened out and looked for alternatives.
Except there weren't any that were as cheap and fast in my case. So I "un-chickened" out and studied. In the private forum, you'll find an excel spreadsheet and a word doc. Those two things combined are all I studied. It's a huge test that is extremely broad.
As such, you probably already know about 10% to 25% of the things they are going to ask you there. (E.g. my last question was, "What was the primary purpose of the Great Wall of China?" . . . and the answer was obvious in the list of possible choices).
So, the two documents from the Humanities thread in the private forum combined with what you already know, and you should be fine.
Just study, study, study what's on those documents (it's a lot).
Last thing: as a disclaimer . . . while I did pass, it wasn't like I "aced" it. I did only get a 60, but a pass is a pass. :hurray:
