NYU has a 2nd degree accelerated BS nursing program
its for people who already have a 4 year degree in a subject and now want to get a degree in nursing
its 15 month, 5 days a week, full time -- no summer break
some of the prerequisites are
Lifespan Developmental Psychology
Statistics
Anatomy
Physiology
Nutrition
Chemistry
English
they will not accept ANY online courses to fulfill ANY of these requirements
I can understand them not accepting Chemistry and A&P, but they won't even accept an online course for Lifespan Developmental Psychology or Nutrition
contrast that with Columbia's accelerated BS in nursing
they WILL accept Excelsior exams to fulfill A&P, Microbiology, Lifespan Developmental Psychology and Statistics
and they don't even require chemistry (unless you're going for Anesthesiology)
so different schools and different programs will look at your online degree definitely

I did take the LSAT last year with only self-study, went from a 149 to a 173 so I'm relatively confident I can teach myself and the formal logic understanding has helped me in every other aspect of my life including programming.
I don't understand what you mean by doubling up on programming languages? I'm doing C in September and then C++ the next semester, no overlap. I'm only taking 2 other classes with them
I thought my program was pretty good, is taking 6-9 credits a semester really that much work? The 2 hardest semesters are still under 10 credits and my work schedule is only 40 hours. No wife or kids.
C is good to learn beforehand. It will get you used to the syntax, and give you a rough idea of what to expect in the way of pointers, arrays, and such. The textbook they use hard to read at times, but it works. I wouldn't take C with assembly if I were you.

Here is the link to the NAU site.

You misunderstood me. You mentioned BA in CS. (I took that to mean computer science.) I cannot locate a bachelor level computer science program available through their "online" campus. I saw "Computer Information Technology" but that is not the same as Computer Science.
Please confirm if you have a link to a computer science program. NAU does have a BSCS program, but I cannot locate a link that says that it is offered online.

I got a little time today to call NYU Polytech (it's officially becoming part of NYU in January) and I gave them my whole situation and they said a TESC degree would be fine with them. The admissions person said that the graduate school was not nearly as competitive as the undergrad school and as long as I have a GPA above 3.0, a good GRE score and a solid personal statement I should be fine.
Just have to confirm a few things with TESC and will enroll/register tomorrow.

TESC will let you extend enrollment one month at a time so if you need up to 3 extra months to apply for graduation you can do it that way. Also your final classes and grades do not have to be in before you apply for graduation if you have completed most of your credits.
I am very surprised about NYU not accepting any on-line courses for that new program, where did you see that? I have a friend who did her BA at NYU and she tested out of her first 30 credits with CLEP. She finished in 3 years saved thousands and has a degree that came from NYU so sometimes stated policy in a catalog can be interpreted differently in person.

Nope, it's just Computer Information Technology. When I was typing I had generic "computer degree" in my head and typed BSCS, but it is BS in CIT.

I live in NYC and about 3 years ago went to open houses for the nursing programs at both NYU and Columbia
just checked the web site and it looks like NYU has changed a few things since then
Eligibility | NYU College of Nursing
Quote:Prerequisite courses taken in a classroom setting will be more competitive than prerequisite courses taken online.
If completing some of the prerequisite courses online is your only option, it is recommended that you complete only developmental psychology and nutrition online.
NYU College of Nursing does not accept any online or hybrid chemistry (with lab) courses; the chemistry (with lab) prerequisite must be completed in an in-class setting.
Prerequisite courses must be completed at a regionally accredited four-year or two-year college or university. Course content must be comparable to those offered at NYU College of Nursing.
Prerequisite courses must be taken for a grade. Credit will not be granted for courses taken pass/fail or taken by examination.
that's better than before
not as good as Columbia, but better than before
