If you do at least three courses per month, they're even cheaper than Saylor.org where you have to pay the $25 ProctorU fee per exam. Also, the Sophia.org tests are open book and don't require an obtrusive video proctor monitoring you.
For Sophia tests, how does the open book process work? Do you use a second monitor (is at allowed for RP Now?) during test or when you have a question you are not sure of, pull up the material to check before answering?

Sophia does not have a traditional proctoring system. They do not use RPNow or ProctorU. Exams are proctored by biometrics; you provide a typing sample that later proves that it's you taking the test. If you fail this, for whatever reason, you can also get a code texted to the phone number you provided when signing up for the course.

If you want to use a second monitor, you can. For Sophia courses, I usually have the PDF of the course materials open while I'm working on the test portion.

Do not think that this makes Sophia exams easy. There were definitely several that I came close to not passing because I was not familiar with the vocabulary. Many aspects of Sophia are easier but you can still fail a course if you don't read the materials.

Thanks folks, I have gotten myself a Sophia‘S gift.

I legit used my phone with multiple tabs open today for all milestones & the final.  I didn’t intend on that, but I started the courses on my phone & it will only let you complete the final on the same device you began when you typed the original sentence.

Worked fine for me, I love the Sophia format.

Anyone still looking to do the B1G1 I have a code. I'm willing to split the cost with someone.

I was able to find someone to split with, so no longer have a code to offer. Thanks for all who responded!
