UMPI - BA in Accounting plan
#61
ONU doesn't appear to be as much work as they seem at first. It appears to be a single paper, broken down into multiple assignments. In that way, it would be very similar to UMPI's offerings. That said, UMPI is probably faster/easier.

Do Micro & Macro econ @ Sophia. 3 credits to ECO-207, 3 credits to electives
Accounting 301: Applied Managerial Accounting @ Study.com is BUS-220 Managerial Accounting @ UMPI
Accounting @ Sophia is BUS-150 Intro to Financial Accounting
Business Law @ Sophia comes in as the UL BUS-352 @ Sophia
Pick one more UL Accounting @ SDC (see https://study.com/college/school/umpi.html ) because you get 2 exams per month anyway.

That should be the easiest/fastest way to ensure that you have enough credits in March.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Please note that I need all of the Accounting, math, and micro&macro econ to be RA credits because the universities that I plan on applying for a master's degree upon graduating require these courses.

So, the only courses that can be non-RA are English Writing 1 & 2, Spreadsheet applications, Business Law II (I've already done Business Law at Sophia), Strategic Professional Communication, Business Analytics, Business Policy & Strategy, Intermediate Business Computing.

I also have to take Calculus 1 RA.

So, these are my ideas:

1) I take RA Accounting now (I'd rather not do micro & macro econ as I can do 2 courses in one in UMPI). Hard to find I guess?

2) Take English 1 & 2 non-RA? Sophia vs ONU? Which takes more time?

3) Take English 1 & 2 RA at ONU? Is it really 120 hours each course?

4) I was planning on doing Calc 1 during my last session at UMPI. Maybe do Calculus 1 now so it gets out of the way so I can take more classes during the other three sessions? Let's say there are six courses that I would do if I got in the first session in January, maybe I should do them all at UMPI by splitting them in three and adding two courses at each session as I would be done with Calc?

5) Sophia Eng 1 & 2 + 1 ASU class? (ASU Advanced Excel in Business will match Spreadsheet applications - confirmed)

6) Other ideas to get the most of these 8 weeks I'm going to miss from UMPI?

With these parameters I want to graduate in 3 sessions, ideally in Summer 2' Session as I planned initially.

2.) Sophia probably takes longer, to be honest.
3.) No, that's the ESTIMATED time. If you don't need to read the texts/watch the videos (or only need to read/watch a little), you can cut that time SIGNIFICANTLY.
4.) This sounds like a good idea.
5.) Sophia is a bad idea. But ASU sounds like a good idea. If you haven't already, go sign up NOW so that you have an account by the time the course opens. I think you technically have up to a week after the course opens to sign up, but it's good to get it out of the way ASAP.
6.) Maybe check if CIS-105 @ ASU will work for Intermediate Business Computing. The overview sounds like it might match up: https://ea.asu.edu/courses/computer-appl...y-cis-105/

Thanks. No other non-RA fast options for Eng 1 & 2?

If I decide to do calc 1 now, where should I do it asynchronously and within 8 weeks? I checked on NMJC and there is no class available. I would do ASU but I don't want brief Calculus, but the typical Calculus 1 class.

5) I will sign up, thanks for pointing that! Regarding (6), I checked and they won't match it with Intermediate Business Computing, I confirmed it today with them.

Study.com's Eng 104 & 105 correspond to UMPI's Eng 1 & 2. Both have 3 papers each. I think you could probably complete both ONU courses in the time it would take to complete just one of SDC's offerings, to be honest.

ASU's "Calculus for Engineers" would be a more typical Calculus class. The "Brief Calculus" is intended for business persons. Both of these have self-paced options.

Interesting. I will look into ONU's courses again today. I signed up for ASU as well. Would you say that ASU is the quickest/easiest/best choice for Calculus 1 at this point?

It's almost certainly the quickest. I'm not sure about the easiest. Maybe the easiest for RA calculus, though. You don't have to pay the $25 immediately; they give you a week to preview the course, then you have to upgrade. Since you're signing up anyway, I would check out both calculus courses and their materials. Go with the one that looks like it will work best for you and your needs.

Take your English Comp courses at UMPI!!!! This is the fastest and easiest way to complete them. There's 1 paper for each course. Very short course content. I transferred Eng Comp 1 from a community college from last century. I spent 90+ days on Eng Comp 2 on Sophia and was failing it because the grading is horrible. I dropped it and completed it in 3 days at UMPI. 3 days for the course content, writing the rough draft, submitting the rough draft, and having my rough draft approved. 3 days.

"last century" Girlfriend! You just reminded me how *OLD* I am! I had to do a double take and think... oh yeah, my first college years were in the 90's...

I think they're trying to get to 60 transfer credits without taking the accounting classes from non-RA sources. Not super easy if you're trying to match everything to a degree plan.
