Another bit of bad news!
NAP: the A&I lit CLEP duplicates my AP literature exam as well! EC looked into it and called me back (Emily is so helpful!). We have to think of another quick and easy CLEP that will fill the 6 credits.
your thoughts?

I'm glad you checked! According to this post 18 months ago, it was not duplicate:
http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...#post42647
I also just noticed that Maniac Craniac has both AP exams in his signature, but I read that they duplicate each other. You could contact him to find out what he is planning for his AP credits:

Okay, let's check some other options. Pages 24 and 26 of the Student Guide to Credit by Exam show your CLEP and DSST choices.
Of those, I have only taken US History, Civil War, and American Government. My feedback:

What looks good to you from the 2 pages in the Student Guide? (Ignore the Composition exams. They do not count for credit.) I have read that Humanities is a lot of trivia type questions. Psychology, Sociology, and Technical Writing seem popular.
You may also want to find out if your AP exam counts towards the Humanities Core Requirement so that you know that is done. (I'd have to read the list again, but I don't think Tech Writing would count and I'm not sure about the Humanities CLEP.)

I don't believe there is a "humanities core" for the associates in science, only the associates in arts. I'm going to do the science one for this very reason. So no problem there. EC wants to split it up so it covers my written English requirement and 3 of my 9 humanities. I could only do 3 more humanities and 3 social studies as well.
Thanks for the good links.

I thought it was listed for both associate degrees. (I hope they will publish a new catalog soon.) I had it for my AS degree.
Yes, check the exam lists for Humanities and Social Science/History. You can get all 6 of your credits in humanities or a combination of 3 in each.

Turns out maniac's AP classes did duplicate at EC. The bad news just keeps coming. After such a break-through with straighterline this was bound to happen.

It is confusing.
If they are looking at AP Lit as 3 credits Freshman English and 3 credits Literature, would this make SL Eng II an option again?
The fact that you have Freshman English I done is great! Don't get discouraged. We are just looking for the best combination.

Ok, if I am reading you correctly, you are looking for 6 humanities credits.
Check with Exclesior to see if these will work for you:

I don't really understand why, but allegedly English Comp II will duplicate. I don't know why, it seems stupid, but according to the EC rep it does. Maybe I should call again and get a 2nd opinion? I really want to use Straighterline. It was so perfect!

So there is no reason I would need to take ALEKS pre-calc is there? I'm mostly done....

Ok if SL comp II turns out to not be an option, since you had inquired about ace religion courses, why not try the DDST Intro to World Religions ?
Remember you only need to get a little more then half the questions correct to pass. There is enough feedback posted on IC to pass that exam.
