High_Order1 Wrote:Well,
Charter Oak basically told me what I already knew. Great, lots of training there. Little is applicable towards a degree. I didn't even really want a degree, but I kinda have always needed one.
So, I've gone from not caring, to honestly a little excited, to 'not surprised'.

I think I will leave this up, and occasionally add to it; maybe someone else in my shoes will find it and save them some heartache.
Thanks for the WONDERFUL input here! You saved me quite a bit of money and time, but most importantly, frustration.
Why heartache? you've been shown the express lane to your stated goal. I had over 160 credits but no bachelors degree when I started down this path. If you need the degree stop looking to cash in your training and focus rather on achieving your aim. By picking the right courses to test out of you can use all that experience and vo-tech training to blaze right through this.
get the general eds done as I've described, use those FEMA for just about all your electives, and knock out 9 UL courses....Hell, Sanantone proved that these exams are transferable to COSC....pick one and get cracking https://csuglobal.edu/undergraduate/prog...tions/cbes If your as educated and knowledgeable as you claim several of these should be doable without your even having to study.
You've also received an invaluable education on this and the other forum. You asked how to do this, and we have explained it for you. For a few thousand dollars and a little time you can do this. 203 years from now you can either be a dude with a bunch of knowledge and a fistful of training certs OR you can be a dude with a bunch of knowledge, a fistful of certs, and an actual degree....if the latter is valuable to you stop searching and start acting.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.
