Let's just say that end users have surprised me in the past, so I've learned to simplify in the most attention-getting language possible.

I was thinking the samething too Cinderly......because it was working fine, and my hard drive has over 200GB (I use an external HD for BU & Storage), I will "buy a simple generic pc down the way". as per nj593.

True - I clearly wasn't paying close enough attention to the time frame (although I do like ADD RAM! as generic advice.) If ganking Norton and shutting down random processes don't speed it up, there's also the dreaded [SIZE="1"]OS reinstall[/SIZE].

I hate doing a full reinstall, but I love the way my PC runs after one. I'm due to reinstall both machines this month and keep putting it off.
