$900 Elmwood Master of Leadership and Management (NA DEAC)

Basically, I would apply even if the state is not listed, a member was able to get in... WA state is showing, I'm also thinking of applying but have a few things on my plate currently I want to finish first. Just like the HAU MBA for $3K, I highly recommend applying before the tuition goes up or they're not offering it at this affordable price anymore.

Admissions told me it wasn't for my state.

I’m quite puzzled by this - they seem to accept international students, but not students from certain states within the US?

I'm not in the US, so forgive me for speaking out of turn here. However, it is my understanding that the US system has "state authorization requirements", which would mean that various online degrees would only be available to students in the specific states that have already provided the "authorization". Whereas, that would be a non-issue for most international students.

On a tangential note, I'd imagine that that's why the Saylor MBA is only available to Floridian and international students, right?

April 2025:  I applied to the program and have been accepted waiting for the next cohort. It will be nice to round my resume and experience with a Master's degree.

Congrats on getting in! Which state are you in? What undergrad do you have?

This must be the right explanation. But I am curious: I recall UoPeople when it became popular about ten years ago. Somehow I don't remember it being available in selected states only, despite being nationally accredited. Is this some sort of choice by the institutions as well?

That's partially it, most of the time, they want to get state approval to operate their online educational programs and also participate in NC-SARA. It's just to have participating institutions get approved or recognized in other states. You'll notice some online programs wouldn't have approval or authorization from some states such as NY, as the requirements are different for each state, and it's more strict in others. This is different than accreditation, either NA such as DEAC or RA...
