This in part supports the theory that in the IT arena what you really know and are capable of doing is worth more than "academic status".
Its true. But we live in the world where you have to have papers . For example you need degree for some promotions, or other situations.  Unfortunately you have to have degree in some cases to get where you want to be

Totally, that's why most of us seek our degree.
