I took the exam a few weeks back. I used IC and skimmed through a book from the public library titled something like, "Arab Israeli conflict". To book backed up the IC Flashcards. I also hit Wikipedia often to become familiar with the geography of the French and British partitioning and mandates.
Though I felt under prepared, I scored a 60. I must admit I found the material interesting and have used my newly obtained knowledge in a couple debates with friends.

Hi and thanks for reply, How close was IC flash card to test, and how many percent of the questions was related to the countries out of Middle East that had sort of impact on Middle East such as France, England, Russia or USA.
Thanks

IC will get you most of the way if not all the way. It covers all of the players in the region and their influence or abuses. You mention a few outside influencers but failed to mention Germany, which caused a few critical issues in the region. There was a good dose of Turkey and Egypt and how their reforms caused internal problems, again this is all covered in IC.
My advice is to go through IC a few times making notes of the people, and major events and you will do fine.

I am not quite ready to take the test, but I wanted to know is there anywhere were you can get practice tests for the Middle East Exam. If I took a few practice tests and did well I would feel much better going into the actual test.
If anyone can tell me I would be very appreciative.
Thanks,

I checked the link. It appears that Fondue and Kiwi disagree about this one. I still have not found any practice tests. What I did find was this:
Amazon.com: DSST An Introduction to the Modern Middle East (DANTES Series): Books: Jack Rudman
I have never used Rudman before. I would assume it has practice tests though. Even if does not it may well be worth it... what do you think?
