I've been trying to sign up for the ACC112 Managerial Accounting at Penn Foster for the last week and I'm having a hell of a time. I call the 1-800-233-0259 and either noone answers, or they transfer me to a voicemail that noone ever calls me back from. I just called 1-800-275-4410 for a enrollment advisor and was told they absolutely do NOT allow people to enroll in just one class, I would have to get the entire Accounting certificate. WTH? I just need the one class since they took the CLEP away. I wanted Penn Foster because it's online, 4 exams + final proctor. I'm trying to get it done along with my Business exams before May 4 so I can qualify for Business Strategy at Excelsior.
Does anyone have any recent information on Penn Foster? Or is there another option besides a local community college?
Thanks!

You just have to stay on them. Sometimes it's a pain to get through.
DO NOT talk to the advisers at the other number. They do not have a clue about the program.

Hello.
I just finished taking the ENG 103 Information Literacy course with Penn Foster last week or so. The lady who helped me, her name was Wendy.
Call 800-961-6407 and choose option 1. Tell them the course you would like to sign up for. For the Managerial Accounting course, they may require you to fax in the prereq (Financial Accounting). Their fax number is 570-961-4100.
It is not a difficult process.
Hope this info helps you and good luck with the course.

Send an email to Tom Hunt at Tom.Hunt#pennfoster.edu change # to @
He is awesome with emails and also assisted on making sure to immediately send in my grades to Excelsior when I completed the course.

OK I'm still having trouble.
I called 800-961-6407 option 1. I spoke with Bill who could not find a course called Managerial Accounting. He sent me to another department where Sarah said she couldn't help and sent me back to an advisor Chris, who goes back to telling me that I cannot take a single course with them, I'd have to take the entire degree or certificate path.

I always call 1-800-233-0259 and I haven't had any trouble except it takes SEVERAL tries before someone answers. I never leave a message. That number is the only way I know of to order just one course. If you keep trying, eventually you will get someone who can help you.

I had the same problem when I called, as I could never reach anybody. Only success I had was contacting Tom when I ordered my Ethics in Criminal Justice and Financial Management course.

Okay CouchPotato here goes.
I read your post and couldn't understand why you were having such difficulty. So I did the next best thing...I called myself!!!
I called the number I told you to call...pressed option #1, and asked to speak to Wendy. You got someone named Bill. Wendy told me that some of their advisors also do "high school" courses too so they have a "high school course catalog" and a "college course catog." Bill was definitely looking in the HIGH SCHOOL catalog. Which explains why he couldn't find the course.
So the next time you call...if by chance you don't get Wendy...tell the person that you want to sign up for the Managerial Accounting COLLEGE course!!!
Enjoy!!!
