Question about the calculator
#1
I'm planning on taking this test in the next few days. I've read that the testing centers won't let you use your own calculator, and that you have to use the one on the computer. Is this right? If so, will it do logarithms?

Also, in an attempt to get a feel about whether or not I'm about ready for this, how in-depth does this test go? I've been going through the IC flashcards, and I've almost made it completely through them with at least semi-respectable "scores." I'm pretty shaky on the probability and statistics sections, and the logs are killing me. :o

Just wondering.

Thanks!

I am going to assume that this post was moved from the College Math section.

The CLEP Sampler can be downloaded from the official CLEP website. This has the calculator that will be available during the exam. You can use this to practice at home before the exam and get familiar with the features on the calculator. Yes, it has a log button.

Do you have an Official CLEP Study Guide book (from the library or purchased)? That is the best way to make sure you are learning the material that will be covered on the exam. The practice questions also help you determine when you are ready to take the real exam.

I am currently studying for this test, too. I have not tried them yet, but have you taken the Petersons practice tests? And have you looked through Petersons CLEP Success? (The links are under Practice Tests in my signature.)

Best wishes on your exam!
