Doing another Bachelors
#1
If I was interested in another Bachelors and I wanted to do it at TESU, would I still be able to apply 114/120 credits towards it? I have completed a few Bachelors programs already, but I'd like to check out TESU's B.S. Computer Science program. I also anticipate people will ask "why"? Simply, because I want to.

It's actually only 117 credits because they waive the cornerstone for a "second" degree. The main requirements are 24 credits earned in your AOS after your most recent degree was conferred and either 15 credits completed at TESU for residency (maybe covered by your DBA??) or pay the Edison Accelerate fee.

Assuming your first degree was also from TESU, the 15 credits from your first degree would also work, or would you have to take another 15 credits/pay the accelerate fee?  I just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly.

My understanding is that the 15-credit minimum applies across all degrees. This could be 15+ credits for your first degree, or if you paid the fee for your first degree but then you completed 15 total credits on the way to the second degree, e.g., 6 for first + 9 for second, etc. However, if you paid the fee for the first degree but then went back for the second degree and still didn't complete 15 total credits, e.g., 6 for first + 3 for second, then you would need to pay the fee again. This is only if you apply for graduation more than once. If you apply for graduation for both degrees at the same time, then you would pay only one fee.

You make a good point. I wonder if the 15 credits would be covered by the DBA. If that's the case, and I met all the requirements for the CS program, I would only have to do the capstone? Now I'm very much interested.

My current stragity is to take BUS-210 Quantitative Skills for Business as one of those 15 credits to leave to door open to speed run a business degree after I finish my CS degree.  The funny thing part of the reason I chose TESU was the CS program was a BA so I could fill it up with credits from culinary school and after all the study.com and coursea credits, and now the other 9 I'm going to take as electives to fit the Residency requirements, only like 6 of those credits are food school related.

An option to max the 15 credit option is to take a second capstone to get another (Associates and/or) Bachelors and the requirements for that bachelors. For example, you're going to do the BACS Capstone and you want to do the BS CIS with the Business Capstone, you can take any remaining requirements to bring that up to 24 credits newer, in addition to the ones you're going to be transferring from Coursera, Study.com, or any other ACE/NCCRS provider to finish off that degree.

Another option that was mentioned is to do the 15 credits with the DBA, you'll need to see if that would work. If you're doing the Bachelors to Masters option, that would work for sure. If you're not doing the BS CIS, something like the BS Data Analytics/MS Data Analytics may work, as this doesn't have a capstone... If you ever needed to, you can add two associates to your list of associates as well, in addition to 4 undergrad certs, the choice is yours...
