TESU BSBA - Finance Help
#1
Big Grin
Hey peeps,

I was pretty active on this forum a few years ago.  My wife is now looking to get a bachelors in Finance.  I've come up with a rudimentary degree plan for her, but I wanted the pros here to have a look and make sure I'm not missing anything.  Thanks in advance.  Shy

Your Location: Florida, USA
Wife's Age: 47 (48 in August)
What kind of degree does she want?: Bachelors (BSBA - Finance)
Current Regional Accredited Credits: Please see attached PDF.

Any certifications or military experience? She has an expired realtor license.
Budget: Trying to keep it as low as possible.  Under $8K?
Commitments: She's a SAHM for one preteen.
Dedicated time to study: 1-2 hours per day M-F, and then open on the weekends usually.
Timeline: Graduation by the end of 2026.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: We're paying out of pocket.

Just wondering and wanting to make sure we're on the same page, is she looking for a Bachelors in Finance or a Bachelors in Business Admin with an emphasis in Finance? Is finance the only subject she's into or would something offered at UMPI make the cut since they're both Business Admin degrees but with different concentrations or minors. Finally, is she planning to pay the residency waiver? If she's doing UMPI for 3 sessions, it'll be the same price f not cheaper than the TESU capstone + residency waiver.

TY for the welcome back!!

My wife doesn't have the normal mentality that people who frequent this board have.

For me, it was get a bachelors as quickly and cheaply as possible. She isn't wired like that. WGU would likely stress her out. The classes she was taking at our local college went from 12 weeks to 8 weeks, and she misses that flexibility. I figured the switch to SDC/TESU would give her the ability to stretch out classes a bit longer and be relatively inexpensive. If it takes 4 months for her to finish a couple of classes, so be it.

I know she would prefer a finance degree, but she seems OK with a finance emphasis. Hopefully this all makes sense. Thanks again!!

Great update, yes, then the Finance AOS makes sense... I would complete all the Study.com classes and get the TESU classes done last.
