I asked AMU if they accept ALEKS Math courses for Math credit and this is the response I got in Return:
Thank you for your patience. We accept some ALEKS courses including for Mathematics. The passing score must be 70% or higher.
Kindest Regards
I also noticed when I was submitting my application that they ask for FEMA transcripts. It seems that they also accept them. probably for Electives.
Right now I'm waiting on a response for the acceptance of Strighterline courses. I will post when I find out. If anyone already knows please let me know. Thanks

PLEASE let me know definitively if you can:
- Which ALEKS math courses they accept
- Which Straighterline courses they accept
- What their parameters are on FEMA courses (i.e. only free electives, only certain degree programs, etc)
AMU is one of the "lesser" schools right after the Big 3 and I'd like to write a bit about it on the wiki. WGU as well.
Thanks!

I sent them an email asking your questions. We will see. What do you mean "lesser" after the Big 3?

Thanks!
I mean they are pretty generous but they don't offer a full 120-credit transfer policy like the Big 3 do. That's why they are The Big 3™.
But quite a few people use AMU/APU and some also look at WGU. I'd like to build out into two tiers -- the Big 3 and what I call the "Lesser" schools for lack of a better word. Don't have a number yet, maybe just two, then it would be "the Lesser 2" I guess.

Oh ok, I see what your saying. Well I sent a bunch of emails to AMU so i guess we will wait and see. I really hope they accept Straighterline courses. That could be another option for faster HUM, SS, HIS, MTH, and SCI. I just want to be done with Gen Ed. I looked at what they accept from Clep and DSST. They only accept a few DSST and only for HUM credits. As for CLEP, Well now very good either.

This is the main reason I decided on going with 2 of the "Big 3" for my Undergrad Degrees. After that, AMU/APU were cheaper and more flexible for my graduate courses.

Well its official! AMU Accepts StraighterLine Courses. They could not give me a list of which courses apply where but I did send them a couple of courses to see if they would apply for Gen Ed. They also said that certain SL courses would apply differently for certain degreee plans. The good news is that they accept them. They must go through ACE though but I think we all figured that. I will take one and have SL send it to AMU and see what happends. Still great news though.

Excellent! One of these days soon I will spend some time building up a couple of pages on AMU/APU and WGU and I'll link back to this thread. Thanks for digging this up!

They might be interesting to look into actually. Is their $12K cost for a grad degree accurate? No "extras" tacked on to drive it way up? How about book costs? And what has the experience been like with them? I'm really curious since a lot of people go with them and they have some interesting grad programs.
Thanks!
