I am about done with the lib-495 online capstone and wanted to review and compare it to the bsba capstone.
So my cliff notes are:
Besides that, there are the 2 ETS tests, which examine both your general and major knowledge. It's not clear how they grade those, because participating should give you all the points.
All in all, I much preferred the BUS-421 capstone because I connected with the material, and I found doing the case studies pretty fun, but it was much more work. Not that LIB-495 is a piece of cake, but in my opinion, choosing the right subject makes all the difference.
A big thanks again to this community; I would never have completed my BACS without this forum.
So my cliff notes are:
- Felt intimidated at first, a lot of English major, being a CS major, I thought hmmm, this is going to be different.
- I had my topic in stone before starting the course, this saved me a lot of time.
- Online discussions are such a drag and useless; they don't know your topic; most don't answer if you ask a question, a necessary evil for easy points.
- I completed my entire thesis in 3 weeks, be careful accelerating; not all mentors are ok with that. It felt like much less work than the BUS-421 capstone with a (5 ?) case studies and a final project.
