Hey. Im new here. I am a little over 30 credits shy of my B.A. in Intelligence Operations. I contacted AMU a month ago about the FEMA courses... they are good for electives just send them in. I only need ONE credit to be done with my electives for this degree. Now I have to decide which 2 GEN ED classes I am going to register for the Feb-Mar semester because it was my intent to CLEP/DSST all my GEN ED classes. They are all I have left to graduate. i recently purchased Instacert one month on Dec 20th and the 22nd I took the DSST for Intro to Business and got a 420. I studied the flashcards only. I did get a B in High school into to Bus but that was back in 1991 lol. The next CLEP I plan to take is American History but I still need to think of what I want to actually take in class as opposed to credit by exam. Instacert has me on my way though!

I just got back my unofficial Credit Eval. Funny thing is I took Math 208&209 at University of Phoenix. But to fill in the 3 required Math Credits they used ALEKS Pre-Calculus. I also just completed SL Bio w/o lab. They said I can do the lab on the side and get credit. AMU said they would accept that. So really if you think about it, you cant pretty much test out of all Gen Ed at AMU. Not a bad option.

Congratulations on the credit acceptance from AMU, that's great! We just wanted to send along this link with a list of schools our students have told us have accepted one or more StraighterLine courses for transfer credit:

Since WGU was mentioned a few times, they have a list on the SL sight of exactly what courses WGU accepts and what they map to at WGU. I'm using this with my wife so she can get used to the doing things online and mostly solo, without risking that it won't transfer in when she does apply (well, low risk).
As for books, one of the places I used a lot during my BS was coursesmart.com online copies of books for 6 months (long enough for any class) and normally around 1/4 to 1/3 the normal cost of the book, great for those that you can't find at the library or a decent used price.
