The first time discount only works the first time. When I signed up for my second set of classes, I could only use a $20 discount because the buy one get one free discount only worked when purchasing another $99 subscription. So, taking an SL course one at a time is more expensive than taking a TECEP.
Most Uexcels are $95. You will always pay at least a $50 test fee to Pearson. The more expensive Uexcels, which can be more than $400, have a $60 test fee. TECEPs are always cheaper than Uexcels because there is no additional test fee.
I never mentioned taking them one at a time, that would take 7 months. I showed the math in my response to dfrecore what it costs for 5 months.
Clarification: Taking them one at a time would take 7 months and be more costly, taking ONLY one class (if you just wanted to pick up 3 credits) and using the coupon only be the $99 if it took a month or less. So one SL class would be cheaper than one tecep. Also, their intro to stats class is also only 25 but only take it through SL if you have already paid for a new month and need the pressure of completing it before the end of the month to motivate you to finish it, otherwise take them both directly through the courses author (saylor) for the same price without any monthly subscription attached.
